Our House

Well, our "house" is in! Thanks goodness!! The kids and I went over yesterday to look at it. We couldn't see Jackson's, Lauren's or the spare bedroom because the doorways were covered with heavy plastic and our bathroom was the same way (bummer, because I really wanted to see it!) We are going back over this afternoon so Chris can see it. I will take what pictures I can for anyone interested in seeing them on Monday! We have the keys to it. They are going to move it to our land on Monday or Tuesday of next week. I can't wait to get this roller coaster ride going. Once it gets moved, we have to get the electric set up first so that the finishers can come and put it together and fix everything. We have to get a plumber to run the water line from the meter box to the house and then the water company has to come and inspect the line and THEN they will put the meter in our meter box. And, of course, the biggest headache of all...the septic tank. I say headache because it is so freaking expensive and some of the installers that we have had out there have complained about the dirt we have. There is only one guy that did not and he is who we are going with. We have clay dirt, which apparently does not soak in water and even though we have an exemption from the Health Department on not having to get a perk test, some of the others wanted us to have the perk test done anyway. Of course, they all know a guy that does them and it would be an extra $500! NEGATIVE!! We are going with our exemption and I'm not trying to give someone extra money because that is so and so's friend. :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Maybe by Monday, I will have seen High School Musical 3!! I'm a nut, a kid at heart and Lauren can't wait to see it either!! Next week is full here! If you live around Warren, feel free to come to the hospital. My organization (BCMC Benevolent Fund) is holding a Book Fair for a fundraiser. I help low income patients receive help with their medications and I need money to be able to help them at the pharmacy, so it is for a very good cause. It will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

OMG! It's BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! I'm so freakin jealous!! I can't wait to see your pictures on Monday...AND...I want to go down there sometime and see it in person!! We seriously need to set that up - we haven't seen each other in forever!!! I'm so happy for you! I also don't blame you one bit on not getting that perk test. If the powers that be passed you, Perk Test Joe needs to bark up someone else's tree for that $500! (did you get the pun there? "Plumber Joe"! HA!)

Ok. So when we hung out, you were so down on your house not being what you wanted. I have to say... when you get it moved and landscaped it's going to be GREAT! Don't sweat the b.s. enjoy knowing that soon, you'll have a place to call home that isn't your inlaws or a teeny apartment! CONGRATS GIRL!!! I wish I could be there for the book sale!

Hey...not to be negative or anything...but Clay (used to work for a plumber) said that usually they don't suggest that perk test unless they really think you need it, and if you didn't get it, and then the ground was bad in the spot the pick, then you could end up with a "dookie" ditch. You know...where it never soakes into the earth and just sits there stinking?? $500 is a lot...but if you ended up with that dookie ditch, then you would have to have the thing redug for another spot.

Anyway....I was just telling him about the progress of your house, and he said that, and I thought, just in case, I would pass that info along to you guys. But I totally understand why you wouldn't want to spend that money.
