Jury Duty

I received a letter yesterday stating that I was being summoned for Jury Duty next Wednesday and Thursday. As most receive this letter, they are consumed with the feeling of doom. They are so disappointed and gripe about it. Not me, no way! I have been wanting to be called for jury duty since I registered to vote when I turned 18 years old. I'm 27! That is 9 years!! I know this sounds dumb, but I don't see what the big deal is. You get a day or so off from work and you get to be nosey! haha I have wanted to do this because maybe my voice/decision will be heard and justice shall be served! I'm a dork, I Know!

Update on Diesel

Diesel went through surgery yesterday fine. It only took about 20 minutes and his mom said that he slept really well lastnight and only spit up a few times. He had a bowel movement, not that anyone cares, but this is an improvement for him! They are going to get to come home this morning!! Thanks for all the prayers, they worked!!

Prayer Request

Everyone please pray for Diesel. Corie took him to the doctor yesterday b/c he kept throwing up. They then went to see a doctor in Little Rock and he wasn't in or something so they took him to Children's. They ran some tests and found out that the opening from his stomach to his small intestine is closed. He is having an Upper GI done right now and then they are going to do surgery to open it up. The doctor said that this is something that is very common, especially among baby boys and babies that are premature (he was 3 weeks early) The doctor also said that it was a simple procedure and they just want to keep him for 24 hours I guess to make sure he keeps his food down and that kind of thing. I'll try to keep everyone updated.

Sweet baby Diesel is growing up too fast!! He turned one month old on Saturday.

I have a VIRUS!

All I did the other day was go to a website trying to find a graphic for myspace for someone's birthday and BAM!! I now have a virus! I have deleted programs, I have ran spyware and virus protection thingees, I have changed settings to high security and what not. The only thing left that I know to do is wipe my computer out and redo over. I hate to lose all the pictures that I have on there though. What has messed up is that when I turn my computer on, it is extremely slow and everything is fine unless I get on the Internet. Then, I have a zillion pop ups and they will not quit. My pop up blocker is on and everything. I don't know what else to do, so someone, anyone, I need suggestions!!

SCRAPBOOKING 101

I am kinda/sorta new to the whole scrapbooking thing and I am really fixing to get gung ho about it. I have had a ton of stuff just sitting in the corner in my bedroom just waiting on me to tackle it. I am going to give in to my urge and hopefully finally touch it TONIGHT! I found this book online and I am thinking of purchasing it this weekend. If anyone has seen this, I would love reviews!!

Book Ideas Wanted!

ok, so after I get done reading this awesome At First Sight by Nicholas Sparks, I need ideas from anyone on what to read next. I need to read the last 3 books of Harry Potter, but I just can't get into it right now for some reason. Also, every time I read a Harry Potter book, it makes me exhausted. I say this because my "reading" time is right before I go to sleep. I dream about Harry Potter all night long and never actually rest. It is hard for me to read any other time because of getting the kids fed, bathed and ready for bed. So, anywho...any suggestions out there?

My little ones DO love each other!

My brother is 14 years older than me and my sister is 10 years older than me. So, although I sometimes get stressed that my children are only 21 months apart and they act up a lot, I love the fact that they will grow up together. My siblings were more like parents to me, especially my sister. Now, my sister's daughter is almost 16 and we have so much in common. She acts just like me, although I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing sometimes! haha Jackson will turn 6 in August and will be in the first grade and Lauren will be in 4 yr old preschool this year. Where has time gone? Just yesterday I was pregnant with Lauren and Debbi and I were talking on yahoo messenger everyday. It seems like yesterday. Matter-of-fact, the past 10 years seem like yesterday to me. The first 16 years of my life seemed like forever and since then..well wow!! We definately all need to cherish the here and now because the next time you think about it, it might be 10 years later!

Finally! Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie! I can't wait to go see this this weekend hopefully. Long live Harry!

More than Meets the Eye!

Oh my!! This movie was so cool!! haha I know I sound like a child, but this put the cartoon we all knew and loved in the 80's into a magnificent graphics movie! I highly suggest it and I'm a girl!

4th of July

I'm Hopelessly Devoted to....Guitar Hero II!!!!

I'm officially obsessed with Guitar Hero for my Xbox 360. I know this is useless time that I'm wasting away as I play this, but it does good for my carpel tunnel syndrome! haha I played it so long lastnight that my right hand aches as I type this message!! But, I'm still reading my book to so I'm working not only the right side of my brain, but the left also. : ]

Bridget Jones???

Ok, so wow, I know I'm really behind here, but I just watched The Bridget Jone's Diary. It is now my new favorite movie!! Poor girl just couldn't quite get it right in the whole man aspect. It was a cute movie...only problem I had with it was the F bomb was used A LOT. Those British folks must just let it fly!

Book Swap Continued..

So I received my stuff from the book swap and Debbi had my name!! She made me the most awesome cookbook! If anyone knows me, they know I LOVE cookbooks!! She sent the kids some coloring books, which they were so excited about by the way! She also sent me a scrapbooking magazine that is really neat and I am going to read asap. She also sent me the continuation of the book that I am reading currently. It is At First Sight by Nicholas Sparks!! He is awesome if you have never read him. Thanks Debbi!!! I love it all!

Paula Deen is Queen!

I just got through reading Paula Deen's autobiography. It was an absolutely wonderful book. Her life story was very interesting. I hate all the struggles that she had to go through in her life, but she overcame all the obstacles and came out on top. She is a true Southern Lady and does not try to be something that she's not. It might not be interesting to anyone that isn't from the south because she references so many southern things, but I highly suggest it. Go Paula!!

I'm a GREAT aunt!!

Jensen Diesel McKinney was born June 21, 2007 at 10:00 p.m. He weighed 6 lbs. 2 oz. and was 19 3/4 inches long. So cute and so sweet!! I don't see how anyone could not believe in God when you see a beautiful baby!!

Book Swap!!!

I'm so excited about this book swap that Debbi is doing!! I now have my person and am ready to go and get her some really great books! I would do a swap, but I don't know anyone on here but her and now my new book chicky!! haha

Pink Tomatoville!

So this past weekend was the infamous Pink Tomato Festival. I love my town, but it is so...silly! haha Thousands of people wade in the hot, i mean humid and hot, weather. So many people you can't even make it through the streets! Lemonade is $3.00!! What the mess? So today in the paper, of course it made front page news! That is the only news we have had. For the people that don't know...we have this festival the 2nd weekend in June every year. The "activities" range from arts and crafts, tomato eating contest (which by the way, the winner this year ate 5 POUNDS and 2 ounces of tomatoes in a minute and he was from Indonesia!), the Saturday parade which mostly consisted of horses and four wheelers (gotta love the south i guess), the all tomato luncheon (every item is made with tomatoes in them), a turtle race, a diaper dash, and a horseshoe tournament. WOW!! I can't believe how hickish this is, but it was fun I suppose, we all get off work early! haha
