Thank You

I want to say Thank You to everyone for the well wishes and prayers for our family. Yesterday was the funeral and it still just feels unreal. I worry about my nieces and my brother. What is my brother going to do with two teenage daughters?! He will learn and he will have help from all of us. My sister in law was an organ donor and they took her arm bones. I did not know that they took your bones when you were a donor. It is great because she will hopefully be saving someone's life with her bone marrow.
Jackson's 7th birthday is Friday. We have already given him his birthday present and he has been enjoying it since this past Saturday! ha We opted not to have a party this year since we are staying with the in laws. It is too hot to have it at the park and I didn't want to bombarde their home with people. We are taking him to Chuck E Cheese. He and Lauren are both bringing a friend and we may go to a movie too. I am getting him a spiderman cake for Friday and we bought him a couple more games for the Nintendo DS we have already given him. Chris and I play the DS as much as Jackson does! haha
Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Such a blessing to know that with your sudden :( loss someone will gain from it...I know it is hard to deal with but just remembering that she will live on by helping someone else is an awesome thing...

Happy (early) Birthday Jackson!!

Being an organ donor is the most selfless thing a person can do and one that I wished more people would become. We are not going to need our organs/bones when we leave this earth.

I know while the family is in grief it is hard to think this BUT by her selfless act she will be allowing another person(s) to continue on with their life. We donated Taylor's organs and it is a great feeling know that her cornea's were able to help someone see again.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry about your loss, and sorry I am late with my condolences. How hard this will be for those girls and your brother. I pray that God will give all of you the strength to heal.

I didn't realize they donate bones either. It is so sad to see someone go, but I hope her family will be able to find comfort in all the people that she will help.

I am so sorry...and like Maury, am so very sorry for being late with my comment. What a beautiful post about your sister-in-law. I had no idea about the ability to donate actual bones, either. What an awesome way for your family to remember you by - helping others. I will be sending a few up for your brother and nieces.

Happy Birthday, Jackson! Another idea for that day would be to go to our new Play Time Pizza...kinda behind The Rave (www.playtimepizza.com). Also, The Promenade at Chenal has a great IMAX that shows feature films (ie. Batman). As if Chuck E Cheese isn't going to wear you out enough!! HA!!
